On 22 and 23 September, representatives of the organisations involved in SCIMIN–CRM gathered at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, for a consortium meeting to share progress and coordinate the project’s next steps.
The meeting offered a key opportunity to review the project’s progress, share results across the different areas of work, and strengthen coordination among the European partners. The technical sessions covered the ten Work Packages (WPs) that structure SCIMIN–CRM, ranging from project management and coordination to communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement, as well as raw materials recovery, sustainability, data management, market strategy and the project’s various pilot activities.
Each area featured contributions from the leaders and experts responsible for driving its development. Marian Pereira presented the progress made in WP1, dedicated to project management, while Mercedes Arribas addressed WP2, focused on systems to improve raw materials recovery. Kanishk Bhadani contributed to WP3, dedicated to sustainability assessment and environmental, health and safety performance, as well as to WP7, covering the pilot activities carried out in Sweden.
Sadeq Zougari presented WP4, focused on data modelling and the development of the information-sharing platform, with contributions from Rajesh Pyrjani (Akkodis) and Reid Millar (University of Oviedo). WP5, dedicated to market strategy and replication, featured contributions from Konstantinos Economou, together with Lorena Vilades and Francisco Arribas (UNE).
Rosa Alonso presented WP6, covering the Asturias pilot; Shabnam Jameshourani addressed WP8, focused on the Austrian pilot; and Vesna Conic and Dragan Milanovic presented the work carried out under WP9, dedicated to the Bosnia and Herzegovina pilot. Finally, Lorena Vilades (ANEFA) presented WP10, which encompasses clustering, stakeholder engagement, dissemination and communication activities.
The meeting combined working sessions with opportunities to strengthen relationships among consortium members. The agenda also included activities in Gothenburg and informal gatherings that helped further build a European collaborative community around the project.
Through this meeting, SCIMIN–CRM strengthened cooperation among its partners and made coordinated progress towards its upcoming milestones, bringing together knowledge, technological capabilities and experience from across Europe.
